The Challenge
A six-site hospital group was operating on a patchwork of legacy systems — paper bed boards, Excel theatre lists, WhatsApp clinical handovers. Patient flow bottlenecks pushed average A&E-to-bed times to 4h 20m. Procurement and IT had ruled out off-the-shelf enterprise vendors due to a 24-month implementation horizon and £1.8M licence cost. They needed a modern operations platform live in under a year, fully compliant with NHS DSPT and ISO 27001.
Our Approach
Two-week observational discovery across all 6 sites — shadowing ward managers, theatre coordinators and clinical operations leads.
Designed a unified real-time data model: beds, patients, staff, theatres and consumables visible across sites with role-based access.
HL7 FHIR integration with each site's existing PAS so we became the operational layer, not the system of record.
Hardened deployment on Azure UK South with full DSPT/ISO 27001 evidence pack delivered with the platform.
